A study in rain protection - and the colouring of females

Saturday started out on a planter's market. For me - the least plant interested person in this marriage- it became an interesting hour or so of observing women's outfits an ordinary rainy day in May. Most of the men seemed to wear jackets without concerns of the weather. Is that typical? As you can see raincoats come in all colours and patterns - which I imagine women kinda lova. Men more often seem to think colours are for sissies, at least for the last couple of hundred years.

But if you're insecure you can always team up with your wife.

Hang your herbs ouside the window! Or close to the kitchen door.

Me and the doggie. Below some of the brave and water resistent ladies at the plant market.

One of the plants that came home with us, getrams in Swedish.

Un believable, we have the most lovely sunny May weather up here, I blow something your way! I love the rain coat and rain boot photos though. Especially the first one and the boots. But I think another pair of Welllingtons would led to a divorce, I have 4 pairs (and I never ever wear them!). Polka dot rain coat is always nice too! Enjoy your Sunday!

Nä men vart var du? Plantloppis?

Such a colorful post! I've been wishing for a pair of Wellies for a long time now. And a polkadot raincoat for sure!

Oh! Lovely photos! I have flowery wellies, but a black raincoat.

Last week, a man I work with put on a silvery grey raincoat with small white polka dots as we prepared to go out to a meeting. A couple of the other men giggled at him when he wasn't looking....men can be quite silly about this sort of thing. I simply envied the man, especially as I believe that raincoat would have been my size.

One more thing...my 14 year old son REFUSES to wear a rainjacket, even in POURING RAIN. I do believe it's some sort of peer pressure at school...it's not "manly". Ridiculous (and very wet).

Haha, det var en kul genomgång. Själv älskar jag gummistövlar o skulle gärna vilja ha en sådan där gammal hederlig regnkappa som man hade "förr" i tiden.

I loved all these photos - the hats, the baskets, the boots, the jackets.

Makes me want to go out and buy the brightest jacket I can.

Or perhaps an elegant silvery grey one with white polka dots!

Raincoats HAVE to be bright, in my opinion.
